Today is my birthday!!!!! I have waited 14 years for this day to come!!! I am going to be busy studying for my permit on the way down to Des Moines tomorrow for state!!! Darin is bringing back an application from his work for me today!!!!

Tomorrow I (along with 21 other girls) are going for a little car ride. We will be riding for over 4 hours in a 15 passenger van. Think about that, a van that has *15* seats in it! Talk about CRUNCHED TOGETHER!!! Oh well it will be a fun time. We are going to go shopping and then going to the Revolve Tour.

I put that poll in the side bar to see what everyone thought of my blog. 4 out of 5 people say I need to spice it up a little bit and add some excitement. Okay, great!! I'm glad that everybody didn't all put I love it! Now, I am wondering what kind of excitement I could add to it? If anyone has any ideas, leave it for me in the comment section and I will take all of it into consideration.

Next week, my friend, Mikkel (pronounced Michael, and yes, she is a girl) is coming. We are going to be going to a volleyball camp and the college here. She is going to be spending three nights here during the camp. We are going to have so much fun! Maybe I'll post some pictures. I am moved into my new house now and maybe I'll post some pics of my new bedroom and bathroom too.

Sorry, I haven't been on here in FOREVER! Well, Joe didn't make the All-Star game. He was 3rd and only 1st and 2nd get in. Oh well. I think that when he got hurt, it literally "hurt" his fans in voting for him. Maybe next year. Not much has really been going on. Friday I think I am going to the lakes with my cousin and g&g. In 16 days Mikkel is going to be coming over for 2 or 3 nights. We are going to the volleyball camp here. The week after that we are going on vacation. And, to top it all off, we are moving next week. WOW. Well, I promised my mom that I would clean the house while she was gone, so I better start doing that before she gets back!

Over at Joe Mauer Fan Club they are having a giveaway (now closed) to everybody that voted 25 times for the 2007 MLB All-Star game. Out of 350 submissions, they chose 14 people to be in the final drawing. Well, I am one off those people. They are going to draw the final winner tomorrow. I have a 1 in 14 chance on winning, so not too bad.

Last night, about an hour and a half after I had gotten back from DDD, I was laying on the couch watching the Twins game. I proceeded to fall in to a deep sleep. After an hour, I woke up to see that the Twins were winning 8-1 to the Tigers, who are a pretty good team. I wondered how they could ever got ahead of them my that much. I kept watching to find out if they would talk about it anymore. Fifteen minutes pasted, then Joe steps up to the plate. Bert, one of the announcer guys, starts talking about his magnificent grand slam that he hit at his previous at bat. I said to myself, NO WAY!! I MISSED IT??! I couldn't believe that I had missed ANOTHER JM first!! It is kind of a bitter-sweet thing.

Anyways, I have to go watch the Twins game. I have to be sure that I don't miss anything!

Day #2 at DDD

This morning in the Ooey Gooey Science class, we dissected sheep eyes. That was probably the most disgusting thing I have ever done in my life!! Later, we dissected owl pellets, which is stuff that owls can't digest so they throw it up. There were 3 skulls, 70 some rib bones, and many other bones that were hard to identify. Yesterday in "The Apprentice" we had to take an object out of a bag and make a logo and all of that kind of stuff on a computer. Our group got toilet paper. We have now named it "Fun Ripz" because there are going to be jokes and news on the toilet paper, so that you don't get bored. We are almost done making the logo and when we are done with that we are going to make posters and a song, like Charmin. But I have to go now.

Day #1 at DDD and a JM first

This morning we made Ooblek, a kind of slime. Then we did a a lab about acid reflex to see what kind of antacid was best. Rolaids and Tums are the best. He then showed us organs of a sheep. Tomorrow we will be dissecting them and feeling them. He then praceeded to show us sheep eyeballs and RATS that we're going to be dissecting on Friday. I really CAN'T WAIT!!!! Iknow, I'm weird that way. This afternoon I am going to be doing a "mini show" of the Apprentice. That will be pretty fun. Tonight for the evening game we (I think) are going to be playing Bigger and Better, which is a game where you have to go around Sioux Center and trade things with people to get bigger or better things than what you already had. We did that last year too and it was really fun!

Camping was a lot of fun too. Me and my mom were laying out on the beach when I heard someone say my name. I looked back and I saw Mikkel. I took her for a jet ski ride and she screammed a little. It was kinda funny! Sorry Mikkel.

Well I have to go find out where we are going to have our next class.

I HATE that stuff!!! It makes me gag when I drink it, it gives me a headache after it has been in me for 10 minutes, and the worst thing, they say that the flavors are delicious. I am making myself eat one tablet everyday because next week I am going to a camp and I don't want to waste the 300 some dollars that I paid for it. I will hope to post once or twice during that time. They do have a computer lab there. This airborne stuff does work though. I just have to go drastic measures to make myself want to eat it.

I am so sorry!! I haven't posted for a WEEK!!! Now people aren't gonna come back and visit!!! Well nothing has been very exciting around here, so I don't really have a very good excuse for not posting.... Again, sorry!!

I had a huge long post typed and it DELETED!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!! It was LONG!! Well, I really, really have to go and make supper.

Well, one good thing... Joe Mauer plays tonight!! It is the first game that he has played in 23 games that the Twins have played without him. I feel it in my bones that is is going to his a home run tonight!!

Song of the Week and other ramblings

I know that the beginning and some parts of it are a bit harsh, but I love this song!! I like it because it makes me kind of reflect on what hurts me the most. And then I think... do some of these things even matter? I am going to list a few things that hurt me the most. If, IF, you would like to share some of the things that hurt you the most, you can leave a comment or just drop an email if you don't want it to be public, or you can just keep it to yourself.

What hurts me the most....
-When people talk behind my back. I know, I know, we ALL do this! I am going to admit that I do too! But please, if you talk behind someone's back, don't let tham know about it!! I have gone through that many times and it HURTS!! Just please, keep it to yourself!!
-I have an uncle in the armed forces and I can't say where he is because of safety reasons, but it hurts me when he calls. I love him dearly! It is just when I hear his shaking voice, about to cry. He misses his family so much! It hurts me. His family is his life.
-Another thing is seeing pictures, videos, posters, ect. with pictures with starving, abandoned children. To see the look of, "someone, please help me!" in their eyes. The look of pain and hunger.

I think I could go on for a while about this, but I think I should stop now...

For 30 days,we encourage you to challenge yourself in a variety of areas.

Spiritual
• Read five chapters of Psalms each day.
•Read the Gospel of John once.
• Memorize Isaiah 53 in any version.
• Keep a prayer journal for 30 days.

Besides completing the above, choose two of the following to complete:
• Volunteer at your church one day to help where needed.
• Listen to a sermon on tape or CD.
• Verbally share your faith with someone who’s not a Christian.
• Invite a friend to church or youth group who does not regularly attend.

Physical
• Walk briskly for 30 minutes a day, five times a week for 30 days.
• Avoid all caffeinated drinks for three days out of every week for 30 days.
• Lift 10 pounds of weights 25 times, three times a week. If you don’t have weights, lift the same amount in something else (sacks of potatoes, bags of flour, etc.).
• Eat at least one fruit and vegetable every day. (A tomato is a fruit, by the way.)

Yippee!!! In only 15 more hours my BEST friend in the whole entire world is coming!!!! We have been counting down for about 23 days now and it is almost here!!! We are gonna have a blast Mikkel!!! Okay, I understand, most people would think that Mikkel is a boy name, but I love it as a girls' name!! A lot of people tease her about it, but there is nothing to be offended by! Mikkel is a beautiful girls name! I (and she) would like to know if we are the only ones that think this is a nice girls' name. If you do or don't please leave a comment.

Don't pump gas on may 15th

...in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all Internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the Internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

Half Way There!

Well, Joe Mauer is half way done with his resting. Seven more days and he will hopefully be sittin' behind that home plate. Last night his team won 16 to 4 against the Tigers who are #1 in the division while the Twins are hangin' out in the #4 spot... But, last year they were 12 games back, and ended up winning the division! I'm sure they can do it! Plus, they're only 5 games back! Yep, they can do it.

Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all! Even if you are a first time mama in the process of adoption, you ARE a mother!!

Joe Mauer is goin' down to the DL (disabled list) as of today. Last Friday, playing a game against the Red Sox, he was running the bases and got hurt:(. He had an MRI Sunday morning and it showed a strained muscle in the upper quads on his left leg. He will be put on the 15-day DL and will hopefully be playing after that. The Twins have been going through a lot of injuries the last couple of weeks and I hope that this marks the end of it!!

They DID beat the Red Sox though!!!! Huge, HUGE milestone!!!

There is a very wonderful woman named Heather. She found out the other day that she has a brain tumor. She has a special needs six year old daughter already. A little update.....

Okay.... I am totally exhausted! We got back from state at 1 a.m. Sunday morning. We played 12 entire hours of volleyball. From 8 to 8. Ginger, I'm kinda jealous that you when to that little spa place with the cute little bed and breakfast. Anyways.... at stare we placed FIRST in the silver tourney!!!!! That is quite the achievement!! There was a tornado alarm in the middle of one of our games so everyone in the building had to go into this TINY little weight room. I was a little more that clastorphobic in there!!!! About half the team got granted the wish to leave from school early including me. We had an awesome time. AHHHHHHH!!!!! It has been FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing to say I guess... That's what ya get for living in Iowa... :) We go to state for our volleyball next Friday... since one of my teachers, Mr. Crull, reads this blog I thought it would be a good time to tell him that we are leaving at 12:30... :) Just in time to miss math class... Think of it this way Mr. Crull, we worked so hard trying to qualify for state, we should at least get an afternoon off of school!!! I hope this is enough to get out of school! PLEASE?!?!?! Shelby, Kayla, Paxton, Whitney, Mady, and Michaela are too!!

Please take it into consideration.......

A New Look

I am getting sick of that black background, so I wanted to change it up a little. I changed it to blue, as you can see, and I'm not sure if I am lovin' it. If you like it,I like it, and if you don't like it I don't like it.. If you don't like it, any suggestions?

Oh, and I want to give a little shout out to Ginger!!!! She got out on PGN!!!! (in the Guatemalan adoption process) How long were you in? 2 weeks?! It sure seemed like it! You get to bring your princess home!!! :D Love you guys!

Is it Spring yet?

Grrrr..... We have snow... AGAIN!!!!! I am really starting to wonder if Spring will ever get here. We have a Blizzard warning in effect until six tonight. We are supposed to be getting 8-10 inches today. We got like 2 feet yesterday.. And I am not kidding! There are drifts that are about as tall as me (I am 5'6"). Just about every school in Iowa is closed. A bunch of stores and companies are closed today, too. They say that it isn't even safe for snowmobiles to be out! If snowmobiles can't be out in the snow..... that is BAD!!!!! Our power has been good so far but as I understand, a lot of homes have lost their power. I hope that we loose at all! I have an aunt and uncle who had to stay in a motel last night because their power went out. I just want better weather!!! Spring, get over here right now!!!

I want to give a shout out to my friend Ginger (and Deborah) in warm and toasty Guatemala visiting her little princess, Maya Grace. I hope that you guys are staying warm! :)

The Best Birthday Ever!!!!!

Okay, so most of you probably know that I am a die-hard Minnesota Twins fan and I absolutely adore Joe Mauer (from my last post). I wanted, with all of my heart, a Joe Mauer cake for my birthday. The lady that makes our cake said that she had absolutely no idea who Joe Mauer was so she was gonna Google him and look at some pictures and find out who it was. She told me that the moment she saw a picture of him, she about fainted! Her favorite baseball player is now Joe Mauer!! haha :) I got a poster of Joe, a picture frame with a picture of Joe laying on a hammock, and a Minnesota Twins hat! Thanks everyone! I took some pics of the cake and here is one (There are way more... I had like a whole photo shoot with it!):

It was the most delicious cake in the world! It was double layered with raspberry cream in the middle! mmmm....

This day was also soo awesome because one of my dear friends that live about and hour and a half away came over! We were going sledding, snowmobiling, and a bunch of other crazy stuff! I guess girls just gotta have fun... haha love ya Mikkel!!!

Well the day is almost over and a whole new year is to come around.....

Volleyball!!

We had our first volleyball tourney today! Unfortunately, we got 5th out of 6.:( lol..... Oh well, we have some more chances to get to state... Our coaches are absolutely awesome! Are any of you getting sick of this weather?!? I hate cold weather!!! I want the winter to be gone and the SUMMER to be here tomorrow!!:) I know that you people down South are freezing your toes off too! Come on warm weather!! Get here quicker!.......

I have some prayer requests that I would like to share with you...
* My friends' grandpa is going through a hard time right now, he has Parkinson's disease and his muscles are not working properly.
*Ginger and Maya (on my "Favorite Blogger" list) are going through a hard time with their adoption. Maya is from Guatemala and needs a mom. The process is going slower than it should and they need some strength to get through this.
* The cold weather needs to go!
* If you have a request and you want me to put in on here... let me know!!!

Wow! It has been a while since I posted last! Well, I play on a volleyball team and we had our first practice today. We are trying to figure out a name for our team. This is where you come in... I need some advice on a team name! We need to have a final name by January 30, so please help me out fast!!!!! I don't want to end up like we did two years ago... our name was the "Funbunch!" Wow!! I hated that name! We ended up with that name because we didn't get a name in quickly enough. So, if you could help me out that would be so great!!!!!!!!!!

A New Week

Today it is Monday... The beginning of a brand new week. A new week to be thankful, happy, and the best of all, loving! I think that Monday is the best day of the week because I can throw away all the dumb things I did the week before and start over on a nice, clean slate. I think that this week will be a good one!

There is one sad thing so far... One of my friends is going through a hard time in her adoption. Her name is Ginger and she needs a gift from you. She needs the gift of prayer, You may, or may not know what is going on in this adoption, but she needs the most prayers that she can receive. So if you could help out my dear friend, Thank-you!

Do you ever have such high hopes and the next day, week, or month, they are crushed? That is how my week has been going... It seems as though this one particular person is out to get me. They just want to push me and shove me in a corner so nobody cares about me...it is almost like they don't know what feelings are... I know that we all sin, but like this? It is so hard...

Do you ever have it that when you are sick it feels like the days feel like they take 70 hours to complete?! I have not been feeling very well lately....My nose is plugged up, feels like there are thorns in my throat, got a headache, ear infection, and I just have absolutely no energy......... I am so exhausted! I hope that none of you are going through what I am going through! Hope y'all sleep through the night (I hope I do too!).

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!

Hey from Iowa, and we have A LOT of snow!! As I look out my window, it looks like we have about a foot of snow! I am not kidding! It started at about 11 a.m. and it is now 5 p.m. and it keeps on coming down!! About all of the churches in this area are canceled. Only if we could have had this kind of snow in CHRISTMAS!! I was really dreaming of a WHITE Christmas, but all we got was frost on the ground:( Well, I hope ya'll have a wonderful day!
